The B & B is about a 6-minute walk from the De Zaanse Schans<\/a> open-air museum, one of the Netherlands\u2019 top-ten tourist attractions. The attractions in include many beautiful, authentic Zaan houses, eight windmills, a cheese dairy, a clog workshop and museums including the Dutch Clock Museum<\/a> and the Zaans museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n You are also just a few minutes’ walk from a supermarket (7 days a week until 10 pm), shops, outdoor caf\u00e9s, a park, the Mill Museum<\/a>, the Honig Breethuis<\/a>, the picturesque Haaldersbroek and Domineestuin hamlets and, for your children, a indoor swimming pool and indoor play paradise inclusive of laser games. You can also visit De Jagersplas and Het Twiske<\/a> recreational areas, a little further away.<\/p>\n The village of Koog aan de Zaan \u2013 and the adjacent village of Zaandijk \u2013 lie along the banks of the River Zaan and are \u2018wedged\u2019 between four protected nature areas with Europe\u2019s largest peat meadowland (Kalverpolder<\/a>, Wormer- en Jisperveld<\/a>, Guisveld and De Reef) with many rambling, cycling and canoeing routes. The B & B is on the Trekvogelpad (\u2018migratory bird trail\u2019). \n From the Zaanse Schans you can go on a river cruise<\/a> or a trip with a Koeienboot<\/a> (a flat boat originally used to carry cows) over the Kalverpolder, take the Zaanhopper ferry to Zaandam and\/or Wormerveer, hire a silent boat for a cruise on the River Zaan<\/a> or catch the passenger ferry from the Zaanse Schans<\/a> to Zaandijk on the other side of the river.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
